Many people are dissatisfied with whom they feel they are or what they have become. Many people want to change things in their lives but find that personal change is hard and sometimes scary; that is true for most of us. Emotional intelligence gives us the edge in not only understanding why change is difficult or problematic, but why we personally find it so difficult. Emotional intelligence enables us to recognise what we need to change and what behaviours or thoughts serve us and how to leverage the positives to change the so-called negatives. Using emotional intelligence consciously enables us to connect powerfully with others by being conscious of our intent and be courageous enough to try new things when we realise our old ways do not serve us.
